Primary Systems, Inc, is seeking an experienced Controls and Automation Technician to join our team. This position will be required to program, test, validate, maintain and manage building HVAC, lighting and monitoring systems and components. Typical components consist of Relays, Transducers, Sensors, Actuators, Automatic Dampers, Automatic Valves, Power Supplies, and so forth. Technicians should have a working knowledge of various system types including Pneumatic, Electric/Electronic, Digital and Analog, and Direct

Digital Control (DDC). Technicians are expected to respond to system service outages, operational failures or calibration adjustments, scheduling issues etc. We offer competitive pay, company vehicle, and full benefits, and invite qualified professionals to apply today!

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

• Install hardware and software for Building Automation Systems

• Perform and document point-to-point system checkouts

• Diagnose and repair control systems malfunctions/failures

• Modify pre-programmed system control routines to meet changing requirements

• Follow project drawings and mark-up documents with field changes for as-builts

• Providing on-site support for start-up, checkout and commissioning

• Assist in project related customer training

• Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience in HVAC or electrical trades is desired

• Tridium Niagara AX/N4 Certification is a plus

• Experience with Honeywell Spyder/Stryker control lines a plus

• Understanding of or ability to learn BACnet, Lonworks and Modbus protocols

• Able to work well on a team

• Able to work with little to no supervision

• Understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment operation

• Understanding of BAS components and their application

• Basic computer skills

• Strong interpersonal communication skills

• Able to pass a drug screen and background check

• Clean driving record
