ENERGY MANAGEMENT/AUTOMATION DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Description
Primary Systems, Inc. is seeking Energy Management System Engineers to join our team. In this role, the Energy Management System Engineer (EMS Engineer) will work in a team environment to design the controls for energy management systems that are consistent with the standards set forth by Primary Systems, Inc. based on contract documents, a defined scope of work and specifications. Regular interactions with project managers, field foremen, shop foremen, Primary’s EMS team members and other trade subcontractor personnel will be required. Responsibilities and Duties

Review of project specifications, drawings and project specific documents to establish project intent

Conducts visits to customer project sites to investigate existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC and building automation systems

Designs cost effective hardware and software controls solutions to meet project requirements

Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects

Responsible for creating installation, submittal, and as-built drawings

Responsible for submitting RFI letters

Responsible for creating and assembling submittal documents

Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
Qualifications and Skills
-
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is desired

2+ years’ experience performing tasks of an EMS/BAS Engineer or 3+ years’ related experience

Able to work well on a team

Able to work with little to no supervision

Understanding of mechanical HVAC equipment

Understanding of EMS/BAS components

Excellent computer skills and intimate familiarity with MS-Office products, AutoCAD, and Visio

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Able to pass a drug screen and background check

Clean driving record
